Facebook gets me

My addiction to Facebook is no secret, I check it regliously regularly and if your’e my friend you probably get poked a lot.  For me it’s a great tool to keep in touch with people.  I pretty much igonre the ads, but today there was one that really caught my eye.  Rideshare! In my area!  Are any Libraries using these targeted ads?  If they are displaying based on users zip code or network it could be a useful way to draw more people to your page, or in the case of this ad, your website. Playing with Facebook

Playing with Facebook

I’ve spent an hour or so playing with Facebook this morning.  MRRL has had a facebook page for awhile now, but I thought I’d create a group to see if that works better and/or attracts more fans.  One perk I noticed is I’m allowed to create officers and name them whatever I like, so far I’ve named myself Crown Princess and Robin Webgoddess   Does anyone have any experience with Page vs Groups? or just thoughts you’d like to share?  On a slightly related note, have you seen TouchGraph?  It will create a visual map of keywords or URLs.  Very cool.  It also has a Facebook plugin which I used to make the graph below.  Bookmark on Delicious Digg this post Share on FriendFeed Buzz it up Share on netvibes share via Reddit Share with Stumblers Tumblr it Buzz it up Subscribe to the comments on this post Print for later Tell a friend

Facebook is totally worth it.

November 12, 2007

On a personal note… I have a Myspace account and a Facebook account, but I’m never sure if they’re really worth the time I put into them. Until now. I found one of my college professors, from my Bachelors degree, you know waaaay back in the day. Here is the message I got from him. How’s that for making my week? I can’t believe it. A message from my favorite student of ALL TIME! How are you doing? I thought you were in Australia or some place like that. I like Missouri for a while. A librarian? You’re living my life! I’d trade you professions. Things are the same here; nothing at ever changes. I will send another message, because I have to run to band practice. Write back using my hotmail account You really are my favorite student of all time. You were the best student and you are a great person. Dr. B.
