Connect With Your Patrons in the Digital World

I’m giving this presentation at the Mobius conference today, I wish I could say it’s somewhere exotic, but it’s just in at the Lake.  Which means a lot of driving but no overnight stay for me. Web 2.0 Class Complete!

Web 2.0 Class Complete!

Yesterday Robin and I finished our two day workshop on Web 2.0. It was so much fun! I have to agree with Robin, I was surprised at how excited about all things Web 2.0 I got just from talking about it for 2 days. Trust me, I had no problems talking about it for 2 days, I think I could have gone for a third! The classroom set up and number of participants was perfect, it allowed for some real hands on help when we gave them time to create and play with their new accounts.  They were excited about what they can do and asked some really great questions.  I can’t wait to see how they implement what they learned for themselves and for their libraries!     Bookmark on Delicious Digg this post Share on FriendFeed Buzz it up Share on netvibes share via Reddit Share with Stumblers Tumblr it Buzz it up Subscribe to the comments on this post Print for later Tell a friend

Workshop Prep

Workshop Prep

The next couple of months will be a flurry of activity for me personally and professionally. First up personally, I’m moving, no new job, just leaving my house and moving into an apartment in a nearby time. I’ve been busying making phone calls, finding a place to live and packing. I had no idea I had so much “stuff”! First up, professionally, I’m prepping for a 2 day work work shop that Robin and I are giving on Web 2.0 at Winter Institute. Robin and I co-present a bit differently than any other duo I’ve seen; instead of one of us presenting for the first half and the other for the second, we present together. We take turns on the slides and both contribute content to everything. It takes a bit more time, but I think it works great. Our weekly meeting at a local coffee shop to work on the presentation Bookmark on Delicious Digg this post Share on FriendFeed Buzz it up Share on netvibes share via Reddit Share with Stumblers Tumblr it Buzz it up Subscribe to the comments on this post Print for later Tell a friend

MLA Presentation

October 5, 2007
By

Yesterday I drove 6 hours round trip to give a presentation (Learning Web 2.0 – Technologies and Beyond) with Robin at the Missouri Library Association Conference. This is the second time we’ve given this presentation, the first one was a Telepresention through MOREnet. I have to say we rocked the house at MLA! We were both spot on with our presentation (we alternate back and forth throughout), the audience was receptive and interested, and we got a lot of great questions at the end. One person even asked if we were interested in taking our show on the road, we said sure! So we might be presenting again later this month.
